Capital swimmers compete for regional honours

Well done to the 12 Capital swimmers who competed as part of the All Stars team in the 2015 Swimming New Zealand Zonal Championships at the West Wave Aquatic Centre in Auckland on 8 February.

Accompanied by our Director of Coaching Craig Albery, the swimmers were:

The Harlequins team, which is made up of swimmers from the Northland, Auckland and Counties-Manukau regions, won the Champs with 1,978 points followed by the Makos (1,750.5), Aquaknights (1678) and the All Stars (1646.5).

Capital’s Emma Robinson was a multiple winner in the senior competition taking out the Women’s 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events. Senior male Liam Albery continued with his impressive form and heavy workload winning the 200 fly.

In the junior competition congratulations to Capital’s Lewis Clareburt who won the 15 and under Men’s 400 IM. Lewis also broke the Wellington record for this event of 4.43.71 set by Brett Newall in 2005 with a new time of 4.42.39. Lewis also won the under 15 Men’s 200 IM.
