Top performance for Capital at NAGs

After five days of intense swimming at the 2015 National Age Group Championships (NAGs), Capital finished fourth club overall with our swimmers clocking up a total of 15 medals.

The NAGs were held at our home pool, the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, from 5-9 May.

Capital earned 755 points in the competition, placing us fourth out of 71 clubs.

Director of Coaching Craig Albery was really pleased with the Club’s final placing stating “as with the other National competitions this year, the team has exceeded expectations.

“There were a number of standout performances. Hamish Trlin and Lewis Clareburt for the boys in particular whilst Maggie Burns lead the way for the girls.

“All the swimmers contributed to the week’s success with Lewis breaking his own 400 IM Wellington record as well. It was also pleasing to see Jessica Iggo medal. Hamish Trlin had a particularly good week, reaching every final in the events he entered.

“The swimmers will now have some valuable and much needed down time,” says Craig.

Swimmers to earn top three placings were:

  • Hamish Trlin – Silver 400 IM, Silver 1500 free, Bronze 200 breast, Bronze 200 back
