Wellington Sports Awards 2016

Swimming was well represented in the 2016 Awards with Samantha Lee receiving Sportswoman of the year, Mark Berge receiving Volunteer of the Year, and Mary Fisher Disabled Sportsperson of the Year.

All three winners have been Capital Members with Samantha Lee still an active swimmer and surf lifesaver, Mark an ex Chairman and currently Swim Wellington Chairman, and Mary is now a member of Tawa.

This is the highest number of Swimming winners in any one year at these Awards, and all recipients thoroughly deserve the recognition and aclaim for their work and contribution to the sport. Samantha is currently training in Australia and preparing for the All Surfs Champs in the Netherlands later in the year. Mary has just returned from Europe and is preparing for the Rio Olympics. Mark is as always, working for the betterment of swimmers via the Swim Wellington and SNZ platforms.

Capital applauds the achievements of these Wellington winners, and offers congratulations, thanks, and best wishes to each of them.
